Morlaix airport is a facility run by Morlaix Chamber of Commerce and Industry within the framework of an AOT (temporary work decree) dating back to 1966. Since 2001, this AOT has been the subject of negotiations in preparation for its overhaul. Since 1 January 2007, the licensing authority has been Morlaix Communauté, which renewed its confidence in Morlaix CCI for 7 years beginning in January, 2008, following a competitive tendering procedure by a public utility delegation.
The Facilities
Morlaix airport is equipped to welcome various types of airplanes: CRJ 100, CRJ 700, FK 100. It consists of a control tower (A.F.I.S service), a passenger terminal, parking areas (10,000 m2 for commercial aviation, 1,500 m2 for general aviation, a 60 places car park for vehicles), warehouses (bound for the flying club, ultra-lights, private planes and the Brit Air company, a subsidiary of Air France), landing aids, a set area allowing engine testing for airplanes.
The services
The airport provides users with: an aircraft support centre, an airplane fuelling station (an Avgas H24 position and a A1 Jet position), an organized fire fighting service for aircrafts, and a fast food service.
