Roscoff fish auction market

Built on the site of Bloscon deep water port, the fish auction market (inaugurated in January, 2003) is run by Morlaix Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  It meets all of the European health and safety standards.  Particularly well positioned with monkfish, cuttlefish, ray, red gurnard, haddock, scallops or bass, it handles all types of fish.

Facilities

The fish auction market is set up in a 2,500 m2 building.  It consists of: a pre-grading storage area, a cold chamber for the coasters, a grading area (300 m2), an exhibition and sales space (690 m2), a computerized auction-room (130 m2) with remote sales via the internet, different storage premises, technical and administrative spaces, a harbour master's office, and a visit gallery.

Related facilities: two fishing quays providing a 190 m docking platform, a fish warehouse (with lock-ups at the disposal of the fishermen for material storage).

Services: tax-free fuel supply (station built in 2000), supply of water, electricity, ice, landing, grading, sales, loading for shipping, and lock-up rental.
